HOPE

don’t let
2025 be a year of hate
it’s not too late
to avoid
the slow dance
in the dark
down the crooked path
towards imminent
death

take a breath
walk
a few more steps
up around the bend
where the
good children play
stay
in this good place
where the sun kisses
faces with kindness
and the wind
sings
songs of laughter
as it plays
in the trees
a comedy of hope
and love

don't let
your eyes become
dark and down
staring only
at the barren ground
don't wait
for 48
to let go
of this hate
instead change your view
find the few
with soft eyes
and open minds
they still
exist
even in this time...

walk the dog
up around the bend
where the birds
sing
and the beautiful flowers
live
the world
is still good here
compassion exists
and good people
still give
